Record the sale where it happened
POS records items, tax, a tip, and cash, card, or other. Card means the payment was taken somewhere else. It does not charge a card or talk to a terminal.
What does the till record?
The till records a catalog item, tax, a tip, and how the guest paid: cash, card, or other. Card means the payment was taken somewhere else. Sofia does not charge a card, store a card number, or talk to a terminal. Paid tickets roll into that day’s takings, split by daypart. The week’s plan stays a number a manager can edit. When POS is on, paid sales can suggest it.
How a payment is recorded
The tender is a label on the ticket. Sofia does not collect the money.
| Tender | What it means |
|---|---|
| Cash | Recorded on the ticket and in the day’s takings. |
| Card | The payment was taken somewhere else. Sofia does not charge a card or talk to a terminal. |
| Other | Recorded on the ticket. Sofia does not collect it. |
There is no card acquiring. A card number is never stored.
Open tickets, then the day
More than one ticket can be open. Paying one leaves the others open. A manager can void one line on a paid ticket, and the day total subtracts that line in the same step. The till page lists units and net cents for paid items in the current week.
Items, tax, and a tip on the ticket Voiding the last line voids the ticket A minute weight can suggest hours. The manager still accepts the shifts When POS is off, the till hides and the suggestion disappears. The typed plan remains
Questions, answered
Does Sofia charge the card?
No. Sofia does not charge a card or talk to a terminal. Card means the payment was taken somewhere else. There is no card acquiring, and a card number is never stored.
Can more than one ticket be open?
Yes. Paying one ticket leaves the others open. A manager can void one line on a paid ticket, and that line comes out of the day total in the same step.
Where do the week’s sales figures come from?
Paid tickets roll into the day’s takings and split by daypart. The history forecast is still built from past shifts. When POS is on, Schedule can propose empty shifts from items that have a minute weight, and those shifts exist only after a manager accepts them.
Does a portion of the catalog, or a cash count, change the card?
No. Card still means the payment was taken somewhere else. Sofia does not charge a card, store a card number, or settle the drawer. A counted amount is a note against cash tenders. A minute weight is implied hours, and items without one stay in sales.
